The Champlain College Creative AI Academy is an intensive 12-day residential program for high school students interested in exploring the exciting potential of artificial intelligence to transform creativity as we know it.

Creative AI is already:

  • Revolutionizing how we design and play games with dynamic, personalized experiences and narratives
  • Helping artists create innovative design, visuals and music using algorithms
  • Assisting content producers in generating media content for video and podcasts

We’ll take you on a journey from the basics of Computational Creativity to the newest tools and techniques available. You’ll team up with your peers to work on projects driven by AI, where you’ll bring art and tech together. We’ll also talk about how AI is changing everything, and we’ll dive into the big questions about ethics. As AI transforms the creative world, you’ll be right there at the front, leading the way!

  • The History of AI
  • Foundations of AI Creativity
  • Ethics in AI 
  • Generative AI applied to  Games, Media, Design, Entertainment, and more
  • Generative Design in Technology
  • Open-source Machine Learning Models with Hugging Face 
  • Programming with Python
  • Procedural Content Generation with PCG
  • Model Fine Tuning and Training
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Chatbots
  • Collaborative Lab Sessions

Example of a Daily Schedule

The daily program will include morning and afternoon instruction, and a combination of instruction and recreational activities in the evenings. We’ll work right through the weekend to take full advantage of the time we have together!
